The HY-Series is an industrial textile printer family for roll-to-roll direct-to-fabric production, covering 1.8 m, 2.2 m and 2.6 m published widths with 8, 16, 24 or 32 Ricoh Gen6 printheads. It serves apparel, silk, sportswear and home-textile mills selecting reactive, disperse, acid or pigment ink workflows.

HY-Series direct-to-fabric overview

The HY-Series is a direct-to-fabric roll-to-roll printer family covering 1.8 m, 2.2 m and 2.6 m published widths, with a 3.2 m class available on request. Model choice depends on fabric, ink route, required width and verified sellable output rather than head count alone.

Use the HY-Series model selection guide to compare the published configurations, then review the reactive, pigment and disperse ink workflows to plan pretreatment, fixation and washing requirements.

The reactive, disperse and pigment inks supplied for this platform are listed with their packaging, storage window and the company that manufactures them.

For polyester transfer-paper production rather than direct fabric printing, compare the HY-1704 and HY-2004 sublimation printers.

Questions before you configure

Which HY-Series model should I choose?

Choose by required width and daily output. At 2-pass, the HY-1808 (8 heads) is listed at ~170 m²/h, the HY-1816 (16 heads) at ~330 m²/h and the HY-1824 (24 heads) at ~450 m²/h. The 2.2m HY-2232 and 2.6m HY-2632 (32 heads) are listed at ~650 m²/h at 2-pass for high-volume mills, with the HY-2632 offering extra width for home textiles.

Which inks and fabrics does the HY-Series support?

Reactive ink for cotton, linen, silk and wool; disperse ink for polyester; acid ink for silk, wool and nylon; pigment ink for cotton and blends. Ink availability varies by model configuration.

How is HY-Series production output verified?

Published speed is stated by model and pass: the HY-2232 and HY-2632 list 650 m²/h at 2-pass and 450 m²/h at 3-pass. Comparable sellable output should be tested with the model, head count, print width, ink, pass, resolution, coverage, fabric, feathering and room conditions recorded.

How many operators are needed per line?

Staffing depends on roll handling, pretreatment, drying, steaming or washing, inspection and shift pattern. The line study confirms operator roles for the complete process instead of assigning a universal one-operator claim to the printer alone.

What's the typical ROI or payback?

There is no universal HY-Series payback period. It depends on installed line cost, sellable utilization, fabric mix, labor, energy, ink coverage, waste and local selling price. We calculate a scenario from your own daily output and cost inputs rather than publish an unsupported customer-average claim.

Do I need a steamer and washer?

Reactive and acid inks require post-print steaming and washing. Disperse requires heat-setting. Pigment ink fixes with heat only, no washing, the fastest turnaround.

What support is available outside China?

Remote diagnostics, video training and model-specific parts planning are available for overseas installations. The final support scope, response channel and any on-site service are confirmed in the quotation for the destination country.
